Ministry
I am the Coordinator for the IT and Multimedia departments here at Word of Life Hungary. My objective is to build up the infrastructure and streamline processes to the point that the entire IT department can be managed by one technical person. When finished, not only will our databases, network, phone system and IT equipment be up to date and stabile, but we will be ready for the next10 to 15 years technologically. There are many aspects to the accomplishing of these goals but to mention a few, we have rewired the network in the castle and soon will finish the remainder of the buildings on the grounds. We are also working to outsource one of our databases and purchasing a new program to manage the other main database.
In the Multimedia department, we work with the Local Church Ministry department to provide them with the video, print and visual materials they need for outreach to Hungary and many surrounding countries. We have also built a new English version of our web site and will shortly complete the Hungarian and German versions. We also provide help to our staff with print materials and video as they prepare for furlough or ministry in the churches they attend.
Testimony
In March of 1975 at the age of 28, I heard the gospel and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior. Over the years that I have walked with Him, I learned to consider where ever I was as a mission field. However, I had always said “the Lord would never send me to out as a missionary”. Much to my amazement, in the summer of 2007, He began to move on my heart to go “out” to serve Him. After spending many weeks in prayer and thinking about how I could do this, I began to ask Him where He wanted me to go. I thought I was probably too old and untrained for most mission organizations to be interested in me but I had friends who were missionaries in Hungary who had asked me to visit them. I visited them and Word of Life Hungary in October of 2007, asking the Lord to open the door if this is where He wanted me. He did, and I have been here since February of 2008, and am having the most awesome and incredible time of my life! It is not always easy living in a country where you don’t speak the language, but I would not wish to be in any other place. I don’t think I could ever have dreamed up such a perfect place to be at such a perfect time in my life. What goodness and mercy He has shown to bring me here!
