Testimony
András
I was born the sixth of seven children into a Christian family in Miskolc, Hungary. I always believed in the existence of God, but did not accept Him as my Savior until I was 16. Until that time, I lived a double life, with one foot in the world and one foot in the Church. One night I heard a sermon from Revelation 3 and the speaker explained that God does not want us to be luke-warm in our faith, but to be on fire for God. I realized the way I was living was wrong and I asked God to forgive me and help me live my life completely for Him. My life changed from that point on and I grew in my relationship with God. After leaving High School I decided to attend the WOL Bible School to learn more about God and His Word, to be better equipped to serve Him. I graduated in August 2001 and immediately began my Civil Service (compulsory for all male Hungarian citizens) with WOL. When my Civil Service ended in September 2002, I was asked to remain on staff and have been serving as a full-time missionary since then.
Anouska
I was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and grew up in a Christian family. My parents faithfully took me to Church every Sunday and I knew a lot about the Bible. I went to a Billy Graham meeting when I was 12 and it was then that I really understood what it means to be a Christian. I realized that going to Church, knowing Bible stories and being a ‘good' person wasn't enough to secure me a place in heaven. I had to accept that I was sinful, and believe that God sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for me as payment for my sins. After I understood this, I prayed and asked God to forgive me of my sins and help me to live my life for Him. After High School, I went to University but during the summer of my second year, I heard of the WOL Bible School in Hungary and knew that God wanted me to go there. Within a short few weeks I was enrolled as a student. I am so grateful for the two years I was able to spend intensively studying God’s Word.
Family
We met while studying in the Bible School and were married in Scotland in June 2003. The Lord has since blessed us with a beautiful daughter, named Kíra. Kíra was born in Hungary on November 7th 2007. She loves dancing, ‘swimming’, watching Barney and eating ice cream. Jacob was born on October 4th 2010. He likes to sleep and eat.
