Ministry
Our first duty was to pioneer a new department within Word of Life Hungary: The Germany Ministry. This consists of offering German language classes for kids and young people in the summer, teaching German in local schools and supervising German interns.
Later on, we restructured and reorganized the area of „Guest Services“.
At present, we are supporting new staff members who have taken over these ministries as God has moved us on to other commitments within the Mission. Axel is now the head of Management, which also covers leading the maintenance department and its 22 workers. Our common task is to provide a good basis for an increasing ministry in order to make God's Kingdom grow in Hungary! Our goal is to share the Gospel of Christ, to encourage Christians in their walk with the Lord and to disciple them. Locals churches are to be supported and Christians need to be trained in order to become good servants in those churches. Besides being missionaries, we are also foreigners, neighbors, friends, members of a church, and family members. Our desire is to give our life fully to the Lord so that he would rejoice over us and that it would be a ministry to the people around us – because of love for our saviour and to be a testimony for HIM!
Testimony
Axel
On October 14th, 1965 I was born as the 4th son of my parents. I was raised in a beautiful historic town in the center of Germany called Schlitz. I grew up with a knowledge about the Christian belief but I did not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. When my brother died through an accident at just 16 years of age, I started to think about what would happen to me after death. Finally, at a youth camp held by my church in 1986, I received Christ as my personal Savior. That same year at a summer camp at Word of Life in Germany, I dedicated my life to the Lord. In 1984 I finished my apprenticeship as a carpenter.
Education: BA in Theology; Carpenter
Hobbies / interests: Running, Volleyball, playing Trumpet
Work responsibilities: Director of Operations
Annette
I was born on June 1st in 1967 in a little village called Dreihausen (1 hour from Frankfurt) in Germany. I grew up with my two brothers in a traditional christian home. After graduating from high school I went to college and received my diploma as a commercial clerk. During that time I started to search for the meaning of my life. I was in a dance group and tried to find it in the ways of the world, but I stayed empty inside. Then a friend invited me to a Christian youth group where I heard that God was seeking me. A few months later, in the fall 1986, I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. At a Word of Life Camp in Germany in 1987, I dedicated my life to the Lord's service.
Hobbies / interests: Volleyball, crafts and singing.
Work responsibilities: Coordinating Guest Services, coordinating the German speaking part of the WOL Hungary ministries: maintaining the contact with our German and Hungarian WOL members, friends. Counseling and Discipling Supporting local churches.

The two of us became staff members of WOL Germany in 1987 at Lake Starnberg. Axel was responsible for maintenance, garden, and worked as the sound technician. This is also where we got to know each other. Following our marriage in 1990 we spent one year in Hungary in order to support the ministry of WOL. There God laid a burden on our hearts for the spiritual needs of the Hungarian people. That's why we decided to attend the Theology Seminary Adelshofen for a four-year course. (Comparable to a BA in Theology) Returning from Seminary, we served part time in our home church for the last 5 years. In 2001 we started our ministry with WOL in Hungary.
